Julie Taylor grew up in Jacksonville, and attended the University of Florida and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Julie graduated from law school in 1996 and has now been practicing law in Jacksonville for over 20 years. She started her career as an Assistant Public Defender where she practiced in county court, juvenile court, circuit court and repeat offender court. She then entered private practice where she spent nine years with the law firm of Stone, Taylor and Associates. In 2009, Julie joined the State Attorney’s Office as the Senior Division Chief of the Juvenile Division. Julie was later promoted to the Director of Juvenile and County Courts in 2012. In that position, she supervises a total of 20 divisions that handle the prosecution of juveniles who are charged with misdemeanors and felonies in juvenile court, and adults who are charged with misdemeanors in Duval County.
