Usha Maharajh is an Assistant Public Defender with the 19th Judicial Circuit. She has been practicing in the field juvenile delinquency for over 10 years, and is currently working on the resentencing of Juvenile Life cases under Miller and Atwell. Usha is also a member of the Florida Bar Juvenile Rules Committee and is involved in direct file reform initiatives. She is also an alumni fellow of the National Juvenile Justice Network, Youth Justice Leadership Institute based in Wash. D.C. She is an advocate for children’s issues and has dedicated herself to this line of work. She is a graduate of Florida State University, College of Law; and American University where she received her Master’s after law school in International Development. She graduated from Florida Atlantic University with Honors in Economics.
